特朗普星期四放言说，他还有很多办法能够进一步伤害C国经济，显示他在不断升级的贸易战方面没有任何退让的迹象。
特朗普在接受福克斯电视台访问时说，“那是(关税）强大的冲击，他们的经济已经明显下滑，而且如果我想要我就能采取更多行动。”
他说，“我不想这么做，但他们得回到谈判桌来。”
特朗普说C愿意谈判，但他不相信C方准备好了。特朗普抱怨前几任总统容忍不公平贸易做法，他认为这样的好事“结束了”。

But in a morning telephone interview with the Fox & Friends programme, Mr Trump took a hard line.
"They want to negotiate, they want to negotiate badly, but I told them, 'You're not ready yet. You're not ready yet.'"
He also said his trade policies had hurt China's economy.
"Their economy has gone down very substantially. And I have a lot more to do if I want to do it and I don't want to do, but they have to come to the table. ...
“I don’t want to do it, but they have to come to the table.” Trump said the Chinese want to negotiate but he does not believe they are ready and he told them so. He blamed previous U.S. presidents for allowing China to pursue unfair trade practices and said he had to tell Beijing, “It’s over.”
“They lived too well for too long and, frankly, I guess they think the Americans are stupid people. Americans are not stupid people. We were led badly when it came to trade,” Trump told “Fox & Friends.”
